Prevalence of Childhood Sexual Abuse:
• 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys experience sexual abuse during childhood (CDC).
• Over 90% of child sexual abuse victims know their abuser (Darkness to Light).
• Psychological and Emotional Impact:
• Survivors are 4 times more likely to experience PTSD.
• They have a higher risk of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation.
• Substance Abuse:
• Survivors are 3 times more likely to develop substance use disorders (National Institute on Drug Abuse).
• Nearly two-thirds of individuals in drug rehabilitation report histories of abuse or neglect.
• Alcohol Abuse:
• Survivors are twice as likely to develop alcohol dependency (American Journal of Psychiatry).
• Many use alcohol as a coping mechanism to numb trauma-related pain.
• Incarceration and Criminal Behavior:
• Survivors of childhood sexual abuse are more likely to be incarcerated as adults.
• Up to 80% of female inmates report histories of sexual or physical abuse (Bureau of Justice Statistics).

According to The New York Post, a gay Georgia couple convicted of sickening sexually abuse of their two adopted sons will spend the rest of the lives behind bars.
William and Zachary Zulock, 34 and 36, were each sentenced last week to 100 years in prison without the possibility of parole, the Walton County District Attorney’s office announced.
“These two Defendants truly created a house of horrors and put their extremely dark desires above everything and everyone else,” said District Attorney Randy McGinley, according to WSB-TV.
