They Said the Documents Were Destroyed — So Why Did the CIA Just Seize Them From Tulsi Gabbard?

If you believe the federal government has been hiding the full truth from the American people for decades — you just got more reason to keep believing it.
Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna dropped a bombshell this week that should trouble every American who believes in transparency, constitutional government, and the rule of law. Luna revealed on NewsNation’s “Katie Pavlich Tonight” that the CIA entered the warehouse of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and removed multiple boxes of classified documents — files pertaining to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the infamous CIA mind control program known as MK-Ultra.

Let that sink in for a moment.
According to Luna, there was an executive order directing the full declassification of JFK files — and the CIA seized those documents anyway. Not with permission. Not through proper channels. In the middle of the night, while the President of the United States was out of the country.
Luna described the incident as an “internal coup” carried out while the president was away, sparking immediate calls for a congressional investigation.
Documents That Were Never Supposed to Exist
The JFK files have been a source of controversy for more than six decades. But the MK-Ultra connection makes this story even more alarming.

Luna explained the troubling nature of the MK-Ultra files specifically, noting that the CIA has long claimed all documents from that program were either released or destroyed — meaning these seized files are allegedly documents that were never supposed to exist at all.
MK-Ultra was the CIA’s covert program that ran from the early 1950s through the late 1960s, conducting secret experiments on American and Canadian citizens — often without their knowledge or consent — using psychoactive drugs, hypnosis, and psychological torture in an effort to develop mind control techniques. The program was officially acknowledged by the Church Committee in 1975, and the CIA claimed most records had been destroyed. If boxes of those files were sitting in a government warehouse and were just seized by the CIA — the American people deserve to know why.
Luna chairs the House Oversight Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, part of a bipartisan push to declassify files on subjects that have long been kept from the public — including files related to JFK, Robert F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., UFOs, and billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Congress Fights Back
Luna did not mince words on what comes next. She told NewsNation that the CIA faces a subpoena if the MK-Ultra files are not returned within 24 hours.
Luna said she immediately contacted House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and that a preservation of documents request was being sent to the CIA within the hour following her television appearance.
When host Katie Pavlich pressed Luna on whether the CIA even had the legal authority to enter Gabbard’s office and remove those documents, Luna’s answer was direct and pointed.
The CIA, she said, does not have jurisdiction to act against a presidential executive order. The fact that this happened while the president was traveling and while CIA Director John Ratcliffe was with him suggests to Luna that this was a deliberate, calculated move by someone inside the intelligence community to block the transparency the president ordered.
Following the interview, Pavlich clarified that the removal of documents was not technically a raid and that the incident actually occurred last year during the government shutdown — but that the files were never returned to ODNI. The CIA has been sitting on these documents ever since.
Why This Matters to Every American
There is a principle in Scripture that speaks directly to moments like this one. Proverbs 12:17 tells us that “an honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies.” For more than sixty years, the American people have been asking for the full truth about what happened on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. They have been asking for the full truth about what their own government did to innocent citizens under MK-Ultra. They deserve honest witnesses — not an intelligence agency that seizes documents in the middle of the night to keep its secrets buried.
I have served in public office for 26 years. I have seen how government can operate in the shadows when it believes no one is watching. What Rep. Luna is describing is not a conspiracy theory — it is a congressional representative with oversight authority describing what appears to be a deliberate act of defiance against a sitting president’s direct order.
That is not how constitutional government is supposed to work. Not in Washington. Not in Tennessee. Not anywhere in the United States of America.
The CIA needs to return those documents. Congress needs to see them. And the American people deserve the truth — all of it.
