muscle, La Vergne Police Chief Christopher Moews (pronounced Mays) has intensified his department’s efforts to drive down crime and dangerous driving in the city through the latest execution of Operation Safe Streets. The multi-agency blitz, conducted June 30, included support from the Tennessee Department of Correction – Probation and Parole, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, and Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Crack-Down on Crime
Chief Moews is making it clear: offenders will not find safe haven in La Vergne.
“This is what real public safety leadership looks like,” said Moews. “We are going after offenders aggressively, working shoulder to shoulder with our law enforcement partners. The message is simple—if you’re bringing crime or chaos into our neighborhoods, we’re coming for you.”
“Driven by crash data and community feedback, Operation Safe Streets aims to significantly reduce traffic hazards in La Vergne,” said La Vergne Mayor Jason Cole, “Our law enforcement officers are specifically focusing on key behaviors like speeding, reckless driving, and distracted driving, among others, to ensure a safer environment for all residents and visitors.”
