Murfreesboro, TN — Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, Inc. is set to transform its operations with the development of the 
Barrett Manufacturing & Technology Campus (BMTC), a comprehensive $76.4 million industrial complex that will establish the company’s primary global manufacturing headquarters in Murfreesboro.
Project Overview
The state-of-the-art campus will create 183 new employment opportunities and is projected to begin operations in early 2027. Strategically positioned at 8808 Manchester Pike—approximately one mile north of Barrett’s current location and ten miles southeast of downtown Murfreesboro—the facility represents a significant advancement in the company’s operational capabilities.
The 250,000-square-foot complex will integrate multiple business functions under one roof, including corporate headquarters, research and development laboratories, advanced manufacturing operations, secure warehousing facilities, and logistics coordination. This consolidated approach is designed to streamline the entire product development and distribution process.
Manufacturing Excellence and Innovation
The BMTC will support Barrett’s complete product lifecycle, encompassing initial concept development, engineering design, production manufacturing, quality testing, product sustainment, and final delivery. The facility will incorporate cutting-edge manufacturing technologies to drive both operational efficiency and product innovation as Barrett continues to diversify its product portfolio.
Economic Development Impact
This expansion represents a doubling of Barrett’s workforce over the next five years, further cementing Tennessee’s position as a leader in firearms manufacturing. The investment aligns with the state’s broader economic development strategy, particularly in Rutherford County, where the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development has supported 16 projects since 2020, generating 2,600 jobs and attracting $323 million in capital investment.
Barrett’s roots in Murfreesboro trace back to its founding in 1982. The company was acquired by Australia-based NIOA Group in 2023, and the new campus will serve as NIOA Group’s United States headquarters, expanding the organization’s footprint in American defense and commercial firearms markets.
