Gallatin Police asking public for help locating man with outstanding assault warrants

Gallatin Police Seek Armed Suspect After Woman Threatened Twice in One Night
A Gallatin woman found herself staring down the barrel of a gun — not once, but twice in the same evening — and now law enforcement is asking the public for help tracking down the man responsible.
The Gallatin Police Department is searching for Tra Sweat, who is wanted on outstanding warrants for aggravated assault issued by the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. The warrants stem from a frightening series of events that unfolded Monday night at a Gallatin residence.
According to authorities, the trouble began around 7:30 p.m. when officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. Sweat reportedly showed up at the home looking for someone. When he couldn’t locate that person, he turned his anger on a woman at the residence — threatening her at gunpoint before leaving.
Most people would consider that the end of it. Sweat wasn’t done.
Around 9 p.m. — less than two hours later — he returned to the same home, this time with the person he had been searching for. When the woman again confronted him and told him to leave, Sweat allegedly pointed his gun at her a second time and threatened to kill her before fleeing the scene on foot.
Law enforcement is urging the public to use extreme caution. Sweat is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach him under any circumstances.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Gallatin Police Department or the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office immediately.

Anyone with information should contact the Gallatin Police Department at 615-452-1313.
