Rutherford County Mayoral Candidate Randy Allen Highlights Leadership and Integrity in Podcast Discussion
Murfreesboro, TN — Rutherford County mayoral candidate Randy Allen joined 
State Representative Mike Sparks and co-host Rodger Thomas on the latest episode of the “Conversations with Mike Sparks” podcast to discuss his vision for the county as the May 5 Republican primary approaches.
Allen, a longtime Murfreesboro resident, brings extensive experience in business, government service, and nonprofit leadership to the race. He currently serves as Chief Operations 
Officer for Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity, where he helps families achieve stable homeownership. He also chairs the Rutherford County Wellness Council, is a Leadership Rutherford graduate, and has served as past president of the Murfreesboro Rotary Club.
During the podcast, Allen stressed his commitment to transparent, drama-free leadership. He told listeners that residents know they can trust his word and that he would focus on listening to citizens, careful planning, and acting with integrity. Allen emphasized ending political games, bullying, and the “good old boy” system while working to unify the county and protect quality of life amid rapid growth.
The conversation also touched on broader community challenges, including the importance of strong families and stable homes in reducing pressures on local schools, courts, and public services. Allen’s campaign centers on responsible growth management, fiscal responsibility, transparency in county government, and putting residents first.
Allen is one of three Republicans seeking the nomination for County Mayor in the May 5 primary, alongside incumbent Mayor Joe Carr and County Commissioner Craig Harris. He previously ran for the position in 2018 and 2022, finishing as runner-up both times.
