According to News Channel 5 WTVF the program, which began accepting applications on Monday, April 21, provides qualifying seniors across the state with free access to complete real estate coursework and earn their licenses before graduation. Participants must complete 90 hours of required coursework through Kaplan Real Estate Education and successfully pass both state and national licensing examinations. Students will have 100 days to complete the requirements, extending beyond their graduation date if needed.

This year’s initiative will accommodate approximately 150 seniors, with special emphasis on students from Tennessee’s economically disadvantaged counties. Program officials emphasize that while this opportunity provides an early career advantage, licensing standards remain identical to those for traditional applicants.
The Tennessee Real Estate Commission, operating within the Department of Commerce and Insurance’s Regulatory Boards Division, oversees the program. Eligible seniors interested in applying can do so directly through the Tennessee Real Estate Commission’s website.
