Editor’s Note: I came across this video and immediately felt it could bring comfort to others walking through difficult seasons. As I write these words, I’m sitting in the very room where my late mother took her final breath.
My mother, a proud Scotch-Irish woman born at the foot of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland’s historic Grassmarket, lived in this home for 56 years. In her final days under hospice care, she suffered greatly. Her labored breathing and moans echoed through the house. Wanting to bring her peace, I played the hymn Amazing Grace — the powerful bagpipe version she loved so much.
Sparks wants ‘Amazing Grace’ named an official state song
As a Tennessee State Representative, I had the honor of authoring the legislation that made Amazing Grace the official state hymn of Tennessee. What happened next was deeply moving. As the bagpipes swelled, her breathing calmed, her moans quieted, and a gentle peace settled over the room. Music therapy succeeded where medicine could not. She passed peacefully the next morning.
I shed no tears that day. My mother was a strong woman of deep faith, and she was ready to go home. What made the moment even more amazing was that our first grandchild entered the world three days later. My son Preston and daughter-in-law named her Grace. I Knick named her my “Amazing Grace” — a beautiful God-wink and reminder of God’s faithfulness through both death and new life.
It is my hope that this article, inspired by the powerful video God Walks With You, brings encouragement, peace, and renewed strength to anyone facing hardship right now. Through life’s struggles, I’ve learned this powerful truth: we are never alone. God walks with you when you call out to Him.
“ Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me,” Psalm 23:4

God Walks With You: Finding Strength in Every Season of Life
In the journey of faith, few truths bring more comfort than this: God walks with you. No matter how difficult the path, how uncertain the future, or how heavy the burden feels, you are never truly alone. This powerful message lies at the heart of the 3-hour Christian motivational compilation God Walks With You, a stirring collection of sermons, teachings, and encouragement designed to uplift believers through life’s hardest moments.
The Reality of Hard Seasons
Life is filled with seasons that test our faith. Whether it’s financial struggle, health challenges, broken relationships, or deep emotional valleys, it’s easy to feel like giving up. The video opens with a raw acknowledgment of this reality: many of us reach a point where we want to quit on our dreams and destiny.
But here’s the divine perspective: Hard seasons are part of God’s plan. They are not punishments, but opportunities for growth, refinement, and deeper dependence on Him. Just as gold is purified by fire, our character and faith are strengthened through trials.
“Hard seasons are very much a part of God’s divine plan for your life.”
God’s Unfailing Presence
One of the most repeated and comforting themes throughout the video is the promise that God never leaves your side. Drawing from Scripture, the speakers remind us of verses like Deuteronomy 31:6 — “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified… for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Even when:
• You can’t see the next step,
• Your prayers seem unanswered,
• The storm feels overwhelming,
God is there. He walks with you through the waters, through the fire, and through the wilderness. He protects, guides, and carries you when your own strength fails.
Trusting God When Life Doesn’t Make Sense
A major focus of the compilation is the call to trust God completely — especially when circumstances don’t make sense. Proverbs 3:5-6 is highlighted repeatedly:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
