Murfreesboro Post: Community Matters: Amelia’s Closet, Liberty’s Station a good pairing

Liberty’s Station is a Murfreesboro nonprofit café and training restaurant that provides job training and workforce opportunities for people facing employment barriers, especially those with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities. Its mission is to serve individuals with employment obstacles through meaningful job training and placement by developing their God-given potential. By dining at or supporting Liberty’s Station, our community creates purpose, confidence, and real career pathways for neighbors who might otherwise be overlooked.

Two local faith-driven, job-readiness programs are living out the belief that acceptance is the best environment for growth, and every person is created with God-given worth. Consider joining their mission.

At Amelia’s Closet, women facing employment barriers are welcomed with compassion and grace. Through professional clothing, encouragement and practical employment support, women are reminded that their past does not define their future. For many, this support has been the turning point that helped them secure employment and move from instability, even homelessness, into renewed hope and independence.

Just across the parking lot, Liberty’s Station serves as a living example of faith in action, relying on touched hearts for financial support. This job training café provides paid, hands-on job training for individuals with disabilities who face barriers to employment. Individuals are not rushed or overlooked, they are valued and given room to grow with our occupation therapy staff’s holistic approach.

Together, both programs are helping individuals experience the truth that meaningful work is a gift, one that restores dignity and self-worth.

Consider setting aside one day a month to eat at Liberty’s Station. It is open Wednesday-Saturday from  9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Book a special event at Liberty’s Station, donate clothing and accessories to Amelia’s Closet, or become a monthly supporter. Through faithful partnerships, it can continue to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community.
