Strong Men, Humble Hearts: Men of Hope Hosts Third Annual Community Prayer Breakfast
In a world that often feels increasingly fractured, a local faith-based organization is bringing men together to start the new year with prayer, fellowship, and renewed purpose. Men of Hope announces its 3rd Annual Community Prayer Breakfast, taking place Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the historic Sam Davis Home’s Creek House.

A Morning of Faith and Fellowship
The event welcomes all men who carry concerns for their families, communities, and the wider world. With the guiding principle of “Strong men. Humble hearts. United in prayer,” the gathering aims to create a space where men can come together in vulnerability and spiritual unity.
The morning will begin at 7:30 AM with breakfast, followed by an hour-long prayer and worship session from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. The intimate setting of the Creek House at the Sam Davis Home provides an ideal backdrop for this meaningful gathering.

Open Invitation, No Barriers
Organizers emphasize that there is no charge to attend the breakfast, removing any financial barriers that might prevent interested men from participating. The open-door policy reflects the organization’s commitment to accessibility and community building.
“Come with an open heart and a willingness to pray for the things that truly matter most in our lives,” the invitation reads, setting a tone of authenticity and purpose for the gathering.
Community Through Prayer
As the third year of this annual tradition, the Community Prayer Breakfast has become a touchstone event for men seeking to ground themselves in faith at the start of each year. Remarkably, the event has packed the Sam Davis Home’s Creek House to capacity for three consecutive years, a testament to the hunger for spiritual community among local men.
Previous gatherings have drawn a diverse crowd, bringing together men from all walks of life and backgrounds from mechanics, insurance agents, pastors, school teachers, coaches, local and state elected officials and even our former Smyrna High School beloved Principal Mr. Bud Raikes.

“It’s always great to see Mr. Raikes. His devotion to education and serving as a mentor for countless students is appreciated,” Rodger Thomas.

The event offers participants an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share in collective worship, and intercede for the challenges facing families and communities today.

The timing—just days after New Year’s Day—positions the gathering as a spiritual launching point for 2026, encouraging attendees to begin the year “grounded in faith, unity, and hope.”
