Editor’s Note:
Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and fellow officers of Correctional Officer Dustin Pedigo, whose life was tragically lost while serving at the Morgan County Correctional Complex. His death is a painful reminder of the dangers faced daily by the men and women who work inside our correctional facilities—places that are often overcrowded and filled with constant tension. Tennessee’s correctional officers perform one of the toughest and most underappreciated jobs in public service, standing on the front lines where risk is a part of every shift. We honor Officer Pedigo’s service and sacrifice, and we keep his loved ones and the entire TDOC family in our prayers during this time of deep sorrow.
