My Mike Sparks
I’ve got to share a story that captures the heart of American grit, creativity, and a little bit of that boyhood excitement we never quite grow out of.
My friend Eric Richey, owner of Crusader Auto Works, reminds me of a kid who just got a brand-new set of Hot Wheels — and for good reason. He and his team are playing a major role in the upcoming Great American Road Rally, a nationwide televised event rolling out this spring.
Crusader Auto Works isn’t just participating — they’re one of the key sponsors and development partners behind the project. And get this: their team secured the #2 car in the entire production and TV series! The vehicle representing Crusader Auto Works and 7 Bridges Media Group (the production company behind the rally) is a stunning 1953 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limousine.
Eric describes it best — it’s about as gangster-looking as a car gets. Right now, it’s in the shop getting a complete refresh, from engine and suspension to interior, making sure this classic beauty is road-ready for a 2,000+ mile journey across America.

This coast-to-coast event celebrates the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and features dozens of celebrities, hundreds of antique cars, and Harley riders — all while raising $10 million for 10 outstanding nonprofit organizations. The adventure will be featured in a 12-part primetime TV series debuting May 13th on The CW.

WORLD FAMOUS ROUTE 66
Want to be part of history? You can register your antique or classic car and join the road rally for part — or all — of the route. It’s a once-in-a-century celebration of the Mother Road and the spirit of American perseverance.
As Eric says,
“If you can’t get your kicks doing this—you probably never will!”
