Murfreesboro Police looking for suspects who assaulted guard while robbing credit union

Police say someone robbed the Ascend Federal Credit Union on West Clark Boulevard Wednesday morning.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Murfreesboro police are searching for two armed suspects who robbed an armored truck guard outside a local credit union Wednesday morning and fled toward Smyrna.
Around 11 a.m., the pair arrived at Ascend Federal Credit Union on West Clark Boulevard in a dark-colored Nissan Pathfinder. They approached an armored truck parked at the ATM, assaulted the armed guard, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers in the area spotted the vehicle speeding down Old Fort Parkway shortly after the robbery. Police tracked the car onto Interstate 24, but lost the trail when it exited at Interstate 840 in the direction of Smyrna.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are actively working the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Murfreesboro Police Department.
