Smyrna Vice-Mayor Marc Adkins has been named the Managing Broker for Parks Realty in Smyrna.

Adkins’ career as a Realtor began with Parks in 1987.

“This won’t change what I do,” Adkins said. “I will continue to serve clients moving forward. This new role allows me to teach, to train, and to support agents within our company, and to assist them with their careers as well.

“I love what I do, and I love where we live, and this simply gives me the opportunity to give back to my industry and to our people”

Adkins also serves as one of the mayor’s two representatives on the Smyrna Planning Commission. The Planning Commission helps to determine the growth and development of Smyrna, with real estate development and the surrounding infrastructure issues a primary concern.

Adkins, a Town Council member since 2009, recuses himself from Town Council votes when a development involves property he has worked with in his Realtor capacity.

Middle Tennessee’s Parks Realty consists of over 1,500 affiliated agents and more than a dozen offices. Parks Realty has recently announced mergers with Pilkerton Realtors, Lakeside Realty and Village Realtors.

Adkins and his wife, Connie, have been Smyrna residents for more than 50 years. Adkins graduated from Smyrna High School in 1975, and also studied at Middle Tennessee State University. They have two adult children and several grandchildren. The couple have been active members of LifePoint Church in Smyrna for more than 25 years.
