BJ’s Wholesale Club is Finally Open!
The long awaited opening of BJ’s Wholesale Club celebrated the new store in Tennessee on June 13. Located at 543 Industrial Blvd. in La Vergne, the store spans approximately 100,000 square feet and offers a comprehensive range of amenities. Customers can choose from the various services such as a gas station, tire service center, optical service center, and a full-service deli and bakery. The store also features convenient facilities like express pay lanes, self-checkout options, and manned registers.
Peter Frangie, the Vice President of Corporate Communications for BJ’s, mentioned that the store offers a diverse selection of products including frozen foods, dry goods, and general merchandise such as home decor, toys, and apparel.
Expressing his excitement, Christopher Kelly, the club manager of La Vergne’s BJ’s Wholesale Club, shared his anticipation for the store’s opening and the privilege of introducing BJ’s unbeatable value and incredible savings to the residents of La Vergne, Smyrna and Rutherford County. The launch of the La Vergne store marks BJ’s Wholesale Club’s entry into the state of Tennessee. Additionally, another BJ’s location is scheduled to open in Mt. Juliet later this year, further expanding the company’s footprint in the region.
Rutherford County already has a wholesale club presence with the opening of a Costco Wholesale store in Murfreesboro in 2021. Costco’s store, which includes a tire service center, optical service center, gas station, food court, and pharmacy, boasts an average warehouse size of 146,000 square feet. However, specific dimensions of the BJ’s La Vergne store were not disclosed by Costco officials. Notably, BJ’s membership is priced at $55, slightly lower than the $60 cost of a Costco membership.
Frangie highlighted that BJ’s Wholesale Club currently operates 237 clubs across 18 states. The newly opened store in La Vergne is expected to generate around 150 employment opportunities, further contributing to the local economy.
