Murfreesboro plans to build waste-to-energy biogas operation
Exciting news for Rutherford County! Murfreesboro government’s proposal to establish a solid waste transfer station and biogas operation just gained approval from the Rutherford County Commission.
According to the Daily News Journal, the Rutherford County Commission passed a resolution that joins all of the mayors within the county in backing the city’s plans that prepare for the expected closure of the private Middle Point Landfill within four years.

“We all know we have to do something about this trash,” Commissioner Anthony Johnson said in calling for the 14-6 vote.
