Publisher’s Note: When I first read about Nancy Pelosi’ husband Paul being arrested for a DUI i started searching and to be honest I wasn’t surprised that very few mainstream news sources had any information.
It is alarming and we all, both Republicans, Independents and Democrats when the media doesn’t hold certain elected officials and their families members accountable.
At the heart of a journalist’s constitutional responsibilities should be the business of holding elected officials accountable, keeping a check on society and institutions of power.
Journalists often refer to themselves as the “watchdog.”
Reporters should be helping to watch over their communities and the actions of government leaders—all in the name of looking out for the public’s best interest.
