Bill Lee appoints Mae Beavers to state Board of Parole

(NASHVILLE)—Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has appointed former GOP state Senator Mae Beavers to the state Board of Parole.

Lee announced Beavers’ new six-year term this week while unveiling more than 70 other appointees to various state boards and commissions.

Mae Beavers is known as a staunch conservative and she is still very active in and around politics. She unsuccessfully ran for governor in 2018.

Beavers was an early supporter of President Donald Trump and served as the head of Tennessee’s delegation to the Republican National Convention.

She left the Tennessee State Senate in August 2017 to run for governor.
